Profile

Elsie initially trained as a landscape designer and plantsman at the Chelsea Physic Garden, setting up her own practice in 1997. After gaining a Masters Degree in Landscape Architect at Greenwich University she joined Groundwork in 2002, working on numerous community landscape projects, including estate regeneration initiatives, schools and parks, working closely with members of the community and clients from consultation to completion.

Elsie joined Farrer Huxley Associates in 2008 as a Senior Landscape Architect, where she lead on a number of high profile projects for the practice including St John’s Hill Estate Regeneration for Peabody, Stratheden House and The Village School. In 2012 she joined the urban design practice Plan Projects as Associate Landscape Architect, working on projects such as the Eastbourne Design Development Framework, the Putney Riverside Quarter and St John’s Hill Arts Strategy. More recently she has worked as Principal Landscape Architect at Jon Sheaff and Associates working on a number of award winning projects including the new Greenwich Park Masterplan, Hainault Ancient Forest Masterplan and Open Spaces Strategies for Barnet and Barking & Dagenham Councils.

Elsie brings an intelligent, iterative and highly creative approach to landscape design, place making and master planning, underpinned by an ability to listen and communicate ideas enthusiastically to wide and varied audiences. Elsie is passionate about successfully transforming the aspirations of community and clients through meaningful engagement and consultation into well thought through, attractive and sustainable schemes.
